Don't let Complete Streets get run over - tell your members of Congress to support the bill!
Complete streets are a cost-effective way to improve safety and accessibility for everyone using the road. Complete streets mean those who have to walk each day don't have to risk their lives on roads that are dangerous by design – and complete streets make walking more attractive as a choice, encouraging active lifestyles that will reap benefits for a generation.
Sen. Harkin and Rep. Matsui are backed by 11 Senators and 42 Representatives who have already become co-sponsors of the Complete Streets Act of 2009, but there's still a long road ahead. Our friends in Congress need more support for their proposal from others on Capitol Hill.
Tell your representative and senators to support the Complete Streets Act of 2009.
