Let's make America's streets safer for everyone
Over 700 towns, regions, and states have adopted their own Complete Streets policies. Now, a bill in Congress will help those places, and hundreds more, design and build streets that are safe for everyone, regardless of who they are and how they are traveling.
The Safe Streets Act (HR 2071) encourages communities to include safety improvements for all types of people in transportation project planning. Doing so can make streets safer for people driving cars, walking, biking, and taking public transit—without separate funding sources and often at little or no extra cost. The bill does not trigger any new federal spending.
