The Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee has announced that they will be marking up the highway portion of the transportation reauthorization bill on the morning of November 9.

The four most senior representatives from the EPW Committee jointly sent out the announcement. These senators include the committee Chair Senator Boxer (D-CA), Ranking Member, Senator Inhofe (R-OK), Senator Baucus (D-MT), the Chair of the Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee, and Senator Vitter (R-LA), the Ranking Member on the Transportation and Infrastructure subcommittee. It is a positive sign for the bill that there is bipartisan support to move forward among the most senior members of the committee and the relevant subcommittee.

Transportation for America expects that the draft language for the bill will be released later this week. We will hold an all-partner call on Monday, November 7 at 4 PM Eastern Time to discuss the draft language of the bill. Here is the call-in information:

Transportation for America will also prepare materials that summarize and analyze the new bill and will send those out as soon as they are prepared.
